Prior to this he was just ok with average performance
in all school activities but above average for visual arts
and in playing the saxaphone. All these have been put to
stop.

My son and I have been to different types of counselling
incl. school, family and group. He is able to control his
temper tantrum better and I learnt how to speak to him
better too but others remain the same, he is more away from
home to be with friends now and coming home late. My next
step would be to file complain to Juvenile Court for 'beyond
parental control' which I hate to do. He has not been officially diagnosed as yet but it’s looking pretty good that this is the condition that he has. Regardless of any diagnoses we want to be able to help our son as much as we possibly can and the things that we’ve done thus far don’t seem to be helping. This has all come to a head today as he has refused to go to school, which he has only just started! The first 3 days we’re ok – he went but was not happy about doing so. We’re obviously concerned that this behaviour will continue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31943569.post-70106976378135636652011-02-02T11:30:11.607-08:002011-02-02T11:30:11.607-08:00My son is 9 and was first diagnosed with it at the...My son is 9 and was first diagnosed with it at the age of 5. I adore my child with all my heart, but his outbursts and behaviors are tearing this house apart. We are a two parent household, and he has several younger half-brothers, and the man that is in the home is his stepfather, although he's been the main father figure in my sons life since he was a baby. I realize that IED and ODD are very similar, but not quite the same.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
