Is it just "normal" teenage rebellion - or something else?!

"My seventeen year old daughter is so very angry. She is involved with drugs and has gotten in some legal trouble as well. She is verbally abusive to me and to my husband who is her stepfather. The problem is that other times she is a joy to be around. She is funny, and very bright and creative. I wonder if she may have a psychological problem or may be an opposition defiant child. Not sure what to think right now."

You may have heard people say that they have done it all which is a lie; however I think I am close to it; as I have even had 3 yes thats right 3 councelors come into my home to try to help my children!!!

I guess I should let you know that my son was diagnosed as ADHD and ODD and my daughter was diagnosed as ADD and LD. my son is like talking to a reverse wall--you ask him to put the pans away and he will tell you "FUCK NO" in those terms. His Oppositional Diffiant Dissorder is driving me up the wall as I say yes and he says no, I say move and he stays. (Please note that I usally say please move or come please ect....).And then the ADHD part is added and he is like a rubberband wonded so tight that sometimes I think he will explode again. Last time he did; he put me in the hospital. Now my daughter she is a different story...she is a lier, thief and she doesnt do what I ask her either. In case you don't know LD stands for....it means learning disabled...there is a 40% gap difference between school smarts and street smarts. And to top it off they were both abused by their father so many times it was unreal; untill I finally got us away from him and got a divorce.

Now we are living in tents and still going through hell with each other some days. It feels like crap!!! At least I am looking for a place to live even tho I will not be able to give my son his 16th yr birthday (10/28/10) presents I am broke from looking for housing and living day to day food stores.

So you tell me how I can get my children to do what I ask them to do without them fighting me; because as it stands right now, it would take a miracle.
